Triadic Motion

The design idea, representing “Interaction,” “Motion,” and “Confluence,” was derived from two different artworks: Composition 1993 by Mustafa Ata and Two Figures and a Butterfly by İlyas Ergin İnan. The inspiration for combining these two artworks was drawn from their differing approaches to applying brushstrokes, as well as the shared presence of two bodies. Through examinations, it was observed that the blend of horizontal, vertical, and angled lines results in the formation of triangles, which can be identified in the region created by the intersection of horizontal/vertical and slanted lines.

The geometrical relationships of the model are grounded in the fundamental theorem of similarity, which is applied through the use of tetrahedral volumes. This theorem is implemented with ratios of ½ and 2/3, establishing edge-to-edge relationships between equilateral triangles of varying sizes. In accordance with the theorem, combinations of two ratios and three different triangle sizes produce variations of the main group and clusters, created by the rotations of elements and groups. Transparent elements are reused to enhance visual and physical connections between volumes and groups, while transition surfaces made from balsa sticks ensure a seamless integration of transparency and opacity. Additionally, the flow of the volumes is reinforced by an analogous color scheme, which supports the organization of the clusters.
