Düğüm: Yenikapı

Istanbul’s historic peninsula has a multilayered historical fabric due to its long settlement history from Neolithic period to the contemporary era. It has richness in its layers, and the Yenikapı district is one of the parts with great diversity. With the latest subway construction, Marmaray, another page is opened for the history of Istanbul with the layer-over-layer layout of the site by the Yenikapı Shipwrecks Excavation. After the completion of construction and other attempts to the district, Yenikapı has become a knot for transportation but also for the history of Istanbul.

The scope of the project is designing a museum and research center to praise the artifacts that have shed light on the history and create a more user-friendly urban layout for the users of the transportation knot.
