Semire Bayatli graduated from Bilkent University with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture in 2017. She pursued dual Master of Science degrees, first in Architecture at Bilkent University, focusing on contemporary urbanization for her thesis. She later earned a second Master’s in Urban Placemaking and Management from Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY. Her thesis introduced a novel approach to placemaking, garnering awards and recognition for her academic achievements and publications. During her studies, Semire worked as a graduate fellow architect at NYC Environmental Justice Alliance. Her research interests span placemaking, sensory architecture, design for children, urbanization, city politics, social environments, cultural structures, and the history and theory of modern architecture and urbanism. Currently, Semire serves as an agenda development strategist at Placemaking X International Organization. Alongside this role, she teaches design studios and architectural history courses.
