The ultimate goal of this project is to create a space for a heritage institution in Ankara designed to enhance conservation efforts. The program encompasses essential elements of a sustainable conservation approach, including public spaces for active participation.
The concept is derived from a natural exploration of two fundamental principles: authenticity and integrity. Following a discussion on the part-whole relationship within the context of authenticity, an analysis of the surroundings—especially the citadel area—led to the development of a specific wall typology. This involves utilizing spolia from antique stores and demolished buildings in Ulus, creating a living fabric within these walls.
