Lighting is a crucial element of architecture and plays a vital role on how we experience and perceive our environment through our sight. The mood and feel of each space can vary dramatically by use of light.
A holistic lighting design responds to the architectural concepts, spatial design, materiality and the exterior environment while minimising the energy use and the carbon footprint. When it is designed together with the architecture and is integrated within, it captures the unique identity of the space by the choice of colour temperatures, brightness, contrast and the balance between light and shadow. It can transform the space and adapt to the varying conditions throughout the day and the year.
