Thematic Library of Moda District

The site’s strategic location near the sea, as a pass-by and connection point, necessitated a welcoming and inviting design to attract visitors. As a result, the circulation is predominantly arranged from the exterior leading into the program spaces. The walls serve a dual purpose, creating a visually striking 2D appearance from the outside and generating anticipation among passersby to explore the library. These walls also act as references to the two primary access points surrounding the site while offering deeper angles of the mesmerizing sea view.

Moreover, the design incorporates the concept of modern art by integrating modern art installations on the walls. This addition is particularly significant as there was a lack of examples of modern art in the Anatolian side of Istanbul, adding a distinct and artistic touch to the library’s ambiance.
