Kadıköy, Moda, is renowned for its diverse blend of cultures, religions, and lifestyles. Upon analyzing the site, it becomes evident that numerous international schools and places of worship for various religions are present. Embracing this cultural diversity, the multilingual library is designed to bring together people from different backgrounds and offer books in their respective languages.
The central focus of the design is a longitudinal structure, divided into several branches, which creates unique experiences within. To mitigate the risk of tsunamis, the end part of the structure is elevated from the ground with ramps. At the entrance of the site, language rooms are strategically placed to facilitate language practice and interaction among visitors. Additionally, the roof features several cuts that allow rainwater to be collected under the structure, creating an ecosystem in the process.
