The library project in Istanbul’s Moda District aims to create a vibrant space where users can socialize, engage in artistic activities, and enjoy live music performances while immersing themselves in books. The design takes into account the library’s location on three different axes, each with distinct visual connections to the sea, Moda pier, and Moda street, which also influenced its functions. These three longitudinal masses are situated atop a horizontal base, housing the main reading hall featuring a grand tree that not only provides natural light but also establishes a refreshing environment at the heart of the library.
Furthermore, this library, conceptualized with art and music in mind, is elevated from the ground using columns and load-bearing walls, allowing for enhanced natural lighting and views for its users. Beneath the structure, a botanical space is created, adding to the overall appeal and functionality of the building.
