A Social Library: Moda District Library of Coffee

Coffee is not just a beverage; beyond being a drink, it is a concept that brings people together. The Istanbul-Kadıköy-Moda region is a frequented spot for young people, where the concept of third-generation coffee shops is quite common. That is why I wanted to create a cultural space in this area where both locals and visitors can socialize, along with a social library that tells the history and coffee-making process.

In developing this concept, my aim was to enhance social interaction by connecting Mektep Sokak, located at the top of our design plot, with Moda Street and Moda Sahil Park. The library’s purpose is to provide a social and cultural space with a theme inspired by coffee, catering to users from three different directions.
