Perifora Exhibited Machine

The unique maritime culture and rich historical background of Egirdir Lake serve as a backdrop for this innovative project, which aims to demonstrate the automation of sponge harvesting; specifically focusing on the freshwater sponge spongilla in a way that is both educational and engaging for visitors. The project incorporates design elements inspired by the semi-circular harvest units used for landscape proposal with wetlands, and includes an amphibious structure with telescopic guidance columns to adapt to rising water levels in the lake according to changes of the master plan. Perifora also features a wooden frame structure, biomimetic kinetic facade for solar collection and sponge harvesting, which contribute to the automation aspect of the project.
