This excavation house was designed as a building that can host both scientific research and social events at once. The excavation house, located in the village of Yassıhüyük, next to the Gordion museum and the tumulus, welcomes a high concentration of tourists in summer. For this reason, the intention is to create a social area where half of the land is allocated to an open-air organization for tourists and villagers. Moreover, the final design appeared in the form of opened arms that is hugging the tumulus view while merging into the existing traditional typology of scattered blocks and courtyards. Lastly, the roof for this building is formed in an inclined manner, which is the modern interpretation of the vernacular roof form.
