Polpo is located in Gioia del Colle, Bari, Italy. The city is separated into two by the railway, severing the relationship between the two sides of the city. This influences the continuity of the development adversely, therefore there is a need for a strong connector between the two sides which is to enhance both the physical and cultural connections. Polpo has a unique typology that includes a walkable green roof as a physical connector and public building functions as a cultural connector. It encircles the old railway building and crowns it in a way. Its unique form provides a landmark for the city which is the first encounter of the people who arrive at the city by train.
