Multidisciplinary Way of Architectural Conservation

Architectural conservation is the synergy of different disciplines; such as architecture, archaeology, history and variety of engineering branches. The success of any architectural conservation project or implementation basically depends on the well integration and interpretation of these disciplines. This presentation aims to explain the bounds between these disciplines throughout different architectural conservation projects prepared for cultural properties from different typologies.

Biography:

Umut Bilgiç was born in 1977, Ankara. He graduated from Middle East Technical University, Department of Architecture in 1999. He received his MSc degree in Restoration from METU in 2004 and founded ANB Architects Consulting Co. Since then, he participated in numerous architectural conservation projects of various types, including work on archaeological buildings and sites, as well as monumentaland civil-use buildings.
