This talk is about the radical opposition of Hans Scharoun to the Nazi dictatorship. His attitude in going deliberately against architecture is discussed as a way to challange Nazism on the architectural front.
Biography:
Paola Ardizzola received her Ph.D in Architecture and Urban History at G.D’Annunzio University, Pescara (Italy) and she is the founder of the Department of Architecture at AIU/Antalya International University where she is currently working as an assistant professor. She is also the Chief of MusAA-MuseumArchitettureArt, founded in 2009 after the tragic events of the major earthquake in L’Aquila (Italy). She was awarded the Bruno Zevi International Prize for an historical-critical essay on Architecture in 2010. Her fields of interest are “History and theory of contemporary architecture”, “XX century architectural criticism”, and “German expressionism art and architecture”.
