[tŏm’bə-lō’] A narrow piece of land made of sediment such as sand or gravel that connects an island to the mainland or another island.
As the geographical formation tombolo generates a connection between two lands, the project functions as an artificial tombolo to connect two sides of Amasra. By means of this, it completes the circulation through three important sections of the town, according to seasonal activities, by dynamic/changing platforms and events. By these changes according to seasons and seasonal activities, the project itself becomes a time interactive space as well as engaging with different parts of Amasra through the shoreline both physically, visually and sensorially.
