Double Skin

In 2019 spring semester in parametric design studio we have focused on the buildings in main campus by their interface with their surroundings, designed elements between their interiors and exteriors, namely their facades, and how the interaction occurs between the function and its reflection on the building.

In order to enhance the afformentioned reflection, participants of the studio, selected the buildings according to their being missed opportunities to create a connection between the interior functions and exterior inputs coming from the surroundings which consists of users those never use the building itself yet always there and environmental factors which always have an effect on the functions of them.

Tools we have used enabled us to simulate the current situation of the selected buildings.Concepts we have developed made it possible to question if there is a better way to create a bridge between the interior and exterior usage of them. And the projects we have proposed are to create similar questions for the audience.
