The Department of Architecture at Bilkent University invites applications for a tenure-track or tenured faculty position in Architecture, with a preferred research and teaching focus on building science, structural systems, sustainability, acoustics, and building materials.
Applicants should demonstrate an active record of research and publication, as well as a clear commitment to developing a strong scholarly agenda. The expected teaching load is 3–3, typically consisting of one design studio (counting as two courses) and one lecture/seminar course each semester. Responsibilities also include advising undergraduate (B.Arch) and graduate (M.Sc.) students, as well as contributing to the intellectual life of the department through core courses, electives, and graduate seminars. The anticipated start date of the position is September 1, 2026.
Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in building science or a closely related discipline by the start date of the appointment; applicants who are ABD will be considered, provided that the degree is completed before September 1, 2026. The successful candidate will demonstrate evidence of a substantial and sustainable research program, a strong record of publication, and a clear commitment to excellence in teaching and advising. Experience with undergraduate and graduate education, including design studios, lecture courses, and seminars, is highly desirable.
Equally important is a demonstrated ability to work collegially and effectively with students and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
