Dr. Valentina Beatini received her Ph.D. in Architectural Engineering from the University of Parma (Italy) in 2011. She works at the intersection of architectural design, structural engineering, and computational tectonics, with a particular focus on reversible building systems, computational design, and innovative masonry structures. Her research explores how geometry, structural reasoning, and digital tools can support sustainable and adaptable architecture. She has led and contributed to several international research projects funded by the European Union and industry partners, including projects on modular floating structures and demountable masonry façade systems. Dr. Beatini has received awards in international architectural competitions and is an active member of the International Association for Shell and Spatial Structures (IASS), where she serves as Head of the Masonry Unit within the Historical Structures Working Group. Before joining Bilkent University, she held academic positions at Aarhus University, Northumbria University, Abdullah Gül University, and Abant İzzet Baysal University.
