The Resonator, located in Famagusta, is a dynamic urban threshold that connects contemporary public life with the city’s historical fabric through a seamless spatial experience. The main complex features dense, modular workshops dedicated to traditional crafts like Lefkara and printmaking, utilizing wind catchers for natural ventilation. At its core, Loc-hal acts as a transformative void where blurred spatial edges merge the private act of making with flexible public space. Finally, the adaptive reuse of the Ünal Cinema introduces a contemporary digital volume, creating an acoustic threshold for capturing intangible urban memory. Passive climate strategies, including exposed wind catchers and double-skin façades, enhance environmental performance and create a dialogue between vernacular heritage and contemporary architecture.
