Located in Famagusta, The Stratum Hub is an active architectural laboratory dedicated to processing the city’s material memory through yellow stone masonry and digital fabrication. The primary new structure features three intersecting volumes pivoting around a climate-regulating atrium. Its spatial program spans three distinct levels: an earth-sheltered subterranean core for heavy robotic stone carving, a permeable ground-level public plaza, and a floating steel canopy housing point-cloud archives and research hubs.Integral to this complex is the adaptive reuse of an adjacent historic masonry building. Reinterpreted with the memory capsules, this heritage structure now hosts the “Parametric Plinths Gallery” which is a dedicated exhibition space displaying the 3D-fabricated outputs and architectural installations generated in the main digital labs. By bridging subterranean traditional craft, elevated parametric technology, and adaptively reused heritage, the project continuously reconstructs the historical strata of the walled city.
