PURGATORY

The project is developed through an interpretation of the site’s topographical layers, transforming the natural terrain into a spatial framework for artistic production, exhibition, and social interaction. The concept is informed by the area’s strong artistic character, shaped by the presence of numerous artists who have lived and worked along İncesu Avenue. Existing land formations are reimagined as a sequence of interconnected terraces that accommodate diverse cultural activities. The program includes workshop spaces, exhibition areas, and a café designed to support creative engagement and community gathering. A grid-based organizational system, combined with a network of stairways and circulation paths, establishes visual and physical continuity between different levels, encouraging exploration while strengthening the relationship between landscape, architecture, and art.
