Extension of Fabric

This project explores the idea of architectural grafting as a method of conservation and urban repair in Bergama. Rather than treating heritage as a static object, the proposal extends the existing urban fabric through new public platforms, landscapes, and mixed-use programs. By integrating exhibition spaces, a library, markets, and civic functions, the project reconnects fragmented landmarks such as Kızıl Avlu and the Yıldız Terminal as well as become a central connecting point in Bergama. New interventions remain distinguishable yet continuous with the historic context, allowing everyday life, movement, and ecological systems to flow across old and new structures, ensuring long-term social, cultural, and environmental continuity.
