This project challenges the conventional approach of transforming industrial heritage sites into passive cultural destinations like museums or cultural centers by proposing “The Perfect Mix”—a mixed-use environment at Yedikule Gasworks. Instead of creating another museum, it envisions a socially integrated urban space that combines housing, commerce, education, and production. This inclusive approach transforms the gasworks from a relic of industrial power into a care network by demonstrating that heritage can actively support social, economic, and ecological sustainability in the urban future. Drawing inspiration from Yedikule Bostans and the former textile and leather industries along the city walls, the project integrates ecological and economic sustainability into its framework.
