Once a key electricity provider for İzmir, the Izmir Power Plant now stands abandoned. Lighthouse İzmir aims to revive it as a living, adaptive space rooted in sustainability, circularity, and inclusion. Located in Liman Arkası, where industry meets marginalization, the project reimagines waste as a resource and the site as a hub for innovation. By preserving the structure and integrating circular systems, it uses recycled materials and fosters social engagement. The site functions as both a community hub and a recycling factory, supporting collaboration and production. Elevated pathways reconnect it with the community and recycling process. Lighthouse İzmir shows that adaptation can transform the forgotten into engines of regeneration and empower communities to shape a sustainable urban future.
