THREADSCAPE: From Thread to Threshold

This project explores the transformation of textile waste into architectural building materials, such as fabric-based bricks and blocks, to construct a Slow Fashion Campus and a materials recycling factory. Positioned at the intersection of sustainable design, circular economy, and architectural innovation, it reimagines waste as structure by turning discarded threads into walls that tell a story. The campus will house research, production, education, and exhibition spaces focused on slow fashion and recycled construction. By integrating material experimentation with spatial design that is based on the structure of textile, weaving, the project challenges the fast fashion industry’s environmental toll and proposes a new, regenerative model for building and dressing the future, in New York City, at the junction of Garment District, Hell’s Kitchen and Hudson Yards.
