The summer camp hosted by Bilkent Drama Atölyesi centers around the concept “The Unexpectedness of Improvisation”. This concept is reflected in the spatial experience through angular forms that have sharp turns allowing each corner to reveal an element of surprise for the visitors of the camp as they are walking around. The camp layout follows an axial organization that enables the formation of these sharp turns and these axes are defined by the linear elements. The proximity between open and closed spaces creates a sense of spontaneity and unpredictability because every consecutive space offers a contrasting spatial quality, shifting between private and public activities.
