The project “Via Vita” is a lifelong learning and elderly care center designed to encourage both youth and the elderly to engage in a life integrated with learning and socialization. Targeting elderly individuals with dementia, it emphasizes uninterrupted, accessible circulation based on the LOOP concept. The design centers around a colonnaded atrium that connects all units. The layout is defined by four key architectural units: residential, social, learning, and transition. Each unit interacts within and between based on levels of publicity. The central atrium defines the looped circulation while fostering social interaction between younger and older users.
