An Embassy Residence in Ankara: Home on Another Land

This project aims to establish a residence for the Japanese Ambassador, inspired by the contemporary Japanese architectural style known for its highlighted flexibility and lightness. Positioned on a corner opposite Kuğulu Park and adjacent to Atatürk Boulevard, the design goals revolve around maximizing the advantages of the surrounding greenery while mitigating the impact of noise from the bustling public space outside the site.

Given the significant value that Japanese culture places on nature, the design incorporates a commitment to minimizing disruption to the existing topography and seamlessly integrating these natural elevations within the structure. Furthermore, aligning with the concept of harmony with nature, the design introduces inner gardens strategically placed to separate the building based on its functions. This approach not only adheres to the principles of Japanese culture but also enhances the overall coherence of the architectural concept.
