The Ankara Embassy Residence, an architectural homage to “The Sublime of Alps,” presents a tripartite structure housing a multifunctional hall, the ambassador’s residence, and an annex.
Evoking Alpine landscapes, the design features sloped roofs reminiscent of mountains. A fusion of modern materials, notably wood akin to traditional Swiss architecture, achieves aesthetic cohesion. Strategically positioned glass openings balance openness with privacy through vertically oriented shadow breakers. The incorporation of public and private gardens, with the visible public garden providing relief from the surrounding urban fortifications, contributes to a harmonious integration within the site’s context.
