Istanbul faces an impending devastating earthquake, and its current buildings are ill-equipped for such a disaster. Urban transformation is essential to create a resilient city. This project aims to reconstruct Sütlüce, a high-risk neighborhood in Istanbul.
Different scenarios were tested using a dialectical and parametric approach to match population density through a trial-and-error process. Two focus areas in different parts of the neighborhood were selected for the study, emphasizing both urban and architectural features. Ultimately, three designs were created for these areas. The project focuses on maintaining population density while transforming the urban fabric.
