Critical Mass

Critical Mass responds to the contradiction of Eskişehir being known as a student city while lacking a strong visible student presence. Instead of designing a traditional campus, the project recreates the feeling of campus life through gathering, visibility, and shared purpose. The design brings students together through one main entrance, creates visual connections between facing masses, and uses the river as an organizing element for social spaces. Public, semi-public, and private functions are arranged according to levels of interaction, noise, and privacy. Through collaboration, production, and social impact, the project transforms scattered students into a visible collective presence within the city.
