The Alternate Edge reimagines Porsuk River’s commercialized waterfront as a more open civic threshold. Developed as an urban river hub for UN-Habitat and International RiverFoundation, the project questions the fixed boundary between city and water. A main mass follows the river, while the edge is broken to let water enter the site beneath an elevated exhibition volume. Public foyer and exhibition spaces make research, discussion, and river-related ideas visible to visitors. Through its transparency, framed views, and material expression, the building proposes a small prototype for a freer, more accessible relationship between Eskişehir, Porsuk, and everyday public urban life.
