Knotted Commons is a social platform situated in Ankara’s Botanik Park, designed to unify local and foreign youth through cultural exchange. Directly responding to environmental challenges, the architectural language acts as a protective shield against the heavy noise pollution from Çankaya Street. This orientation allows the semi open nodes to turn their back on the noise and face entirely toward the scenery of the park. The project features a continuous, linear pathway that loops and twists across the landscape, physically knotting both spatial functions and people together. This fluid layout organizes three distinct cultural nodes: a culinary space for sharing food, a media hub for exchanging books and films, and an open stage for performance works. By intertwining these pathways, the design connects the spaces and people at the same time.
