The design focuses on the dwelling of an architectural materials developer and her family, ten years from now.
The user’s requirement was a home with no dark areas and a narrow space. To achieve this in one of the dense parts of Ankara, the design follows the grid of the existing building and appears as a single large mass, divided along the grid from the inside. There are two large courtyards arranged in a grid that provide light and ventilation year-round. Between the courtyards are user-required rooms: a pilates studio and a living space. The material lab provides required functions for four researchers and an archive for materials. A clear line separates the lab and living space, and the materials follow this rule as well.
The house gives a chance to breathe inside the designed habitat while being integrated with itself and its surroundings.
