DOMA AS A CONCEPT

This project reinterprets the traditional Japanese doma as a multi-scalar spatial generator for collective housing. Each unit is organized around a double-height doma that functions as a neutral, flexible core connecting all interior spaces. Variations in doma configurations generate different unit typologies while maintaining a consistent architectural language.

As the units come together, the spaces between them form a collective doma, translating the domestic core into a shared urban void. This continuity reinforces both plan and section, creating a clear spatial rhythm throughout the project. The doma logic also extends to the podium and rooftop levels, shaping communal outdoor spaces and strengthening the relationship between private and collective life.
