FA102 Studios worked on CO-IN: Student Cooperation Initiative. The projects by freshman year students provided a social space for students to coordinate production, fundraising, exhibitions, and performances. It facilitated collaboration between various student clubs to address contemporary issues through a series of events.

Arch 202 studios, focused on a thematic library in Istanbul's Moda district, encouraging innovative and individual design ideas by allowing freedom in proposing themes and content.

ARCH 302, studios aimed to redefine the urban edges of Ulus, Ankara, fostering diverse urban dialogues and permeability beyond existing limits. It sought to fortify the core of these historically vital production and social centers with integrated public spaces.

Graduation Studios addressed rapid global changes and various urban challenges to find sustainable design and planning solutions. Each thesis tackled contemporary realities in its unique way, considering societal and urban issues.

Graduation Studio

Our world is changing rapidly and beset with developmental issues involving growth, sprawl, economic stagnation and stratification, a dearth of open space, congested transport, environmental degradation, as well as socio-cultural isolation. In our continuing search for “sustainable” design and planning solutions, we must consider an array of societal and urban issues. Each graduation thesis tackles the realities of our time in their own unique way.

Breaking the Boundaries Interlacing in The Re-Developing Urban Edges of Ulus, Ankara

During the Spring Term of 2022-2023, ARCH 302 undertook a compelling initiative centered around pushing the boundaries in the urban edges of Ulus, Ankara (Turkey). The specific focus was on reinterpreting this area as a fresh urban interface that transcends its existing limits, aiming to foster expanded dimensions for diverse urban dialogues and enhance permeability along the edges of Ulus. These edges have historically been vital production and social centers for the city's development. The primary objective of this project was to fortify the core of the urban edges by implementing an integrated system of innovative public spaces.

Thematic Library of Moda District

In Spring 2023, Arch 202 studios worked on a thematic library in the lively Moda district of İstanbul. This exciting project granted the freedom to propose the theme and content for the district library, allowing for innovative and individual design ideas to flourish.

CO-IN: Student Cooperation Initiative

In Spring 2023, the CO-IN: Student Cooperation Initiative was designed as a social space for production, fund collection, sale, exhibition, performance, and gathering for a purpose. This spatial design not only enabled activities to be coordinated by students but also hosted fundraising facilities. It was temporarily used by different student clubs to address contemporary issues. This student initiative aimed to organize a series of events framed by the collaboration of one (or two) selected student clubs at the university.
