This project investigates how ancient urban grids\u2014though seemingly erased\u2014continue to shape contemporary cities as latent spatial structures embedded within the urban fabric. Inspired by Spiro Kostof\u2019s readings on historical urban form, the project approaches Bergama as a palimpsest, where Roman planning principles persist beneath later organic layers. The project reverse-engineers the grid\u2019s traces and reactivates its nodes\u2014places that were historically significant and remain spatially powerful today\u2014by introducing an armature that connects the open spaces formed at these nod intersections. Through its multiple variations, this armature enhances spatial experience and enables a renewed engagement with the city\u2019s historical layers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
