The design project located in Mebusevleri brings the concept of cohabitation to life, considering the user’s expertise in microbial ecosystems, specifically symbiosis and antagonism, and the tenant being the lab partner of the landlord. The idea of living together is represented in the design through architectural abstractions that express the harmony of contrasts. Many contrasting architectural features, such as light and shadow, openness and closure, and the relationships between aboveground and underground, are applied volumetrically. The sunken garden at the center creates a contrast with the underground laboratory, shared by both the tenant and the landlord, while the aquarium establishes a vertical relationship between these two spaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
