The Gomel Oil Plant has been transformed into an adaptive reuse building, now functioning as an innovation and research library. This new facility features maker spaces and discussion areas tailored for entrepreneurs, students, and other users. To accommodate the new functions, which exceed the original building’s capacity, two glass stack masses have been introduced. These additions provide industrial exhibition areas without overshadowing the building’s original appearance. The glass stack at the front serves dual purposes: as an industrial exhibition space in the mornings and as an open-air cinema in the evenings. Additionally, while the existing steel structure has been preserved, supplementary multifunctional steel columns have been strategically placed. These columns address issues of light, ventilation, and circulation, enhancing the building’s functionality without compromising its original structural integrity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
