By drawing upon case studies from diverse contexts, it unveils the multifaceted nature of these strategies, illuminating their role in fostering sustainable development and cultural continuity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through analysis and reflection, the presentation aims to inspire design strategies for intervening in\/on\/around existing buildings and sites, ensuring their heritage values in contemporary contexts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Biography:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00d6zg\u00fcn \u00d6z\u00e7ak\u0131r (Assist. Prof. Dr., METU) is an architect by training who is specialized in the preservation field. He has attended multi-disciplinary meetings as a speaker, including those organized by the Association of Critical Heritage Studies, the Association of Cultural Economics International, BTU Cottbus, Columbia GSAPP and TU Delft. He is a member of ICOMOS Turkey, and ICOMOS International Sustainable Development Goals Working Group.
