The city is separated into two by the railway, severing the relationship between the two sides of the city. This influences the continuity of the development adversely, therefore there is a need for a strong connector between the two sides which is to enhance both the physical and cultural connections. Polpo has a unique typology that includes a walkable green roof as a physical connector and public building functions as a cultural connector. It encircles the old railway building and crowns it in a way.
