It covers the architectures of shipyards for the oared ships (galleys), sailing ships (galleons) and metal steamships (cruisers).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Biography:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nam\u0131k Erkal is a member of TED University Department of Architecture. His academic research and publications focus on the early modern urban morphology, the architecture of city frontiers, the architectural history of the Ottoman market places, customhouses and maritime ports, specifically the urban history of Istanbul.
